A Kid Again, Inc.

The Central Ohio Chapter is honored to serve families who are raising children living with life-threatening illnesses. It does so by providing cost free, fun filled destination Adventures throughout the year.

Intern will assist data management, event planning, new volunteer onboarding, and onboarding of new families.

Bridgeway Academy

Bridgeway Academy is a non-profit organization with a mission to inspire the potential and celebrate the ability of every child. This is accomplished with a centered approach – providing outstanding school day, summer camp, and psychological services, plus speech, music, physical, and occupational therapies for children with autism and other developmental disabilities.

Intern will develop and produce digital library content and interviews to share organizational impact.

Central Community House, Inc.

Central Community House is a comprehensive, neighborhood-based community center that has been serving the near east and near south neighborhoods of Columbus, Ohio in the settlement house tradition since 1936.

Intern will work with staff to complete three grant proposals and strategy papers, create marketing content, and build the capacity of a social enterprise.

Columbus Children’s Theatre

Columbus Children’s Theatre educates and involves young people of all backgrounds in the theatre arts. Through its programs the organization fosters self-esteem and self-discovery by emphasizing discipline, integrity, team-building, and communication skills in a positive and creative environment.

Intern will assist staff with operation of the summer camp programs.

Columbus Metropolitan Library Foundation

The Columbus Metropolitan Library Foundation provides financial support for the Library’s greatest needs and highest priorities through generous gifts from customers to support vital services to the central Ohio community, like homework help for students, early literacy skill training for children and resume services for jobseekers.

Intern will assess and recommend improvements to the current donor stewardship program.

Economic and Community Development Institute, Inc.

ECDI has been providing small business loans, ranging from $500-$350,000, to help low-income, low-wealth, and other disadvantaged people and communities join the economic mainstream. ECDI has assisted over 13,000 individuals through our comprehensive suite of entrepreneurial programs and services. ECDI has disbursed a total of over $50 million through more than 2,100 loans, and created and retained over 8,000 jobs. The organization supports loans for new and established businesses. Many of their other services can help develop a new business into a loan-ready client. ECDI provides the tools, technical assistance and support for businesses to succeed.

Intern will provide support for the Food Fort, community garden, and quality job initiatives.

Equitas Health

Equitas Health (formerly AIDS Resource Center Ohio), is a regional not-for-profit community-based healthcare system and federally qualified community health center look-alike. Its expanded mission has made it one of the nation’s largest HIV/AIDS, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer/questioning (LGBTQ+) healthcare organizations. With 17 offices in 11 cities, it serves more than 67,000 individuals in Ohio, Kentucky, and West Virginia each year through its diverse healthcare and social service delivery system focused around: primary and specialized medical care, community pharmacy, dental, behavioral health, HIV/STI prevention, advocacy, and community health initiatives. In 2019, the Buckeye Regional Anti-Violence Organization (BRAVO) became a part of Equitas Health. The Equitas Health Pharmacy operates as social enterprise for Equitas Health; 100% of profits are reinvested back into the organization’s programs and services.

Intern will assist with planning, logistics, marketing, and solicitation of event-related materials for the Art for Life gala.

Ethiopian Tewahedo Social Services

ETSS is a community based 501(c)(3) organization that helps new arrivals from all countries establish roots and gain self-sufficiency in Columbus through programs and services that encourage community integration, sustained employment, education, health, and strong families. We provide services to both adults and children through employment assistance, ESL courses, After School programs, Summer camps, and advocates for victims of domestic violence.

Intern will assist with planning a six-week summer camp and provide marketing support for the annual youth summit event.

Friends of the Lower Olentangy Watershed (FLOW)

FLOW was formed in August 1997 with the mission to keep the Olentangy River and its tributaries clean and safe for all to enjoy, through public education, volunteer activities, and coordination with local decision-makers.

Intern will support website development, communication, and help develop efficiencies around use and storage of volunteer and donor information.

Huckleberry House, Inc.

Huckleberry House is a safe place and a source of support for young people. The organization works relentlessly to ensure all young people in the community have access to a safe home environment as well as the guidance they need to develop skills and find resources that can help them navigate and cope with the pressures of life. Through the organizations crisis shelter, family and individual counseling, community outreach, and independent living skills training, it helps young people take the first steps in a better direction.

Intern will develop and implement a speakers bureau to train volunteers to represent Huckleberry House at community events.

IMPACT Community Action

Community Action was founded in 1964 by President Lyndon Johnson’s Vision for A Great Society that ushered in Civil Rights reform, Economic Opportunities for all citizens and began the War on Poverty. IMPACT Community Action is one of 48 Community Action Agencies in Ohio and more than 1,100 nationally that is on the front line in the War on Poverty. IMPACT’s programs and services focuses efforts and resources to move people from crisis to stability, from stability to empowerment, and from empowerment to self-sufficiency.

Intern will assist staff with a data systems integration project that aggregates all organizational data into a centralized location.

Community Arts Project, Inc. dba The King Arts Complex

The King Arts Complex engages central Ohio through performing, cultural, and educational programs of high artistic merit that increase and disseminate knowledge regarding the vast and significant contributions of African-Americans to the culture and history of America and the world.

Intern will administer the summer youth STEAM academy.

Muslim Family Services of Ohio

Muslim Family Services of Ohio serves families in need in the Central Ohio area with confidentiality, respect and dignity.

Intern will assist staff with developing and launching a digital marketing campaign.

Venture for America, Inc.

Venture for America is creating economic opportunity in American cities by mobilizing the next generation of entrepreneurs and equipping them with the skills and resources they need to create jobs.

Intern will work with staff to connect VFA Fellows with jobs at startups and scaling companies in central Ohio.

YWCA Columbus

YWCA Columbus defies a status quo that puts women, people of color, and the
underprivileged on uneven footing. By fostering dialog, providing practical
resources, and educating, we promote empowerment and inclusion. We initiate systematic social change that will create a Columbus of peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all.

Intern will assist the Women’s Residency Program with preparation for its reaccreditation process by organizing materials, updating timelines, aggregating data, leadership.
